Terry Russell has hit out at Polish teams after Torun refused to release Adrian Miedzinski for Swindon’s home match against Reading last Thursday - the rider’s hometown side instead insisting that he appeared in a club under-21 championship event. Mr Russell said: ‘We have dates that our riders will be missing that are agreed and accepted up front, but if the situation arises again as last week, when the Polish side only sent a fax at the beginning of the week, then we shall deem the rider concerned to be withholding his services. This will result in a Ł500 fine for the rider and he will automatically be banned from the next home match. This, at least, will allow us to use a facility, rather than having to use a Premier League rider as we had to against the Bulldogs.’
The club owner continued: ‘We have federation agreements in place with Sweden and Denmark over the use and availability of riders, but we have never been able to get Poland to agree to the same guidelines. I am particularly angered by what happened last week to the point where I will be consulting EEC lawyers with a view to suing Torun for damaging my business. I want to do the very best I can to make Swindon Speedway a successful club and the situation last week resulted in us losing our unbeaten home record in the Sky Sports Elite League. Making it all the more frustrating, on the same night that we were without Adrian Miedzinski, his team-mate at Torun, Karol Zabik, was allowed to appear in this country for Peterborough. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a dig at Miedzinski whatsoever as he wants to ride for the Robins and was as frustrated about the situation as everyone else.’
Mr Russell concluded: ‘I could retaliate by refusing to allow my British riders from going to Poland, however, it is in the best interests of everyone that we all try to work together and make sensible decisions for the future good of the sport.’

Moze jeszcze cytaty z for brytyjskich:
According to BBC Radio Swindon this morning a plan is being submitted by the owners of the Abbey Stadium to redevelop the site leaving a smaller Greyhound Stadium with no provision for speedway.
The rest of the site will be sold for housing.
One of the reasons sited is that as the area has now become residential because of the expansion of Swindon it is no longer the right area for a speedway track.

This is crazy, dont people like speedway out there??.
In the last year we have lost Wimbledon, Weymouth, Sittingbourne, Exeter and Hull all for one reason or another, at this rate if Swindon close, may as well just make one league. In fact if others get closed, lets just have no Speedway in Britain at all.
What a Joke
To przykre :(

Ostatni bieg drugiego meczu finałowego pomiędzy Peterborough Panters a Reading Bulldogs roszczygnie, kto zdobędzie Mistrzostwo Anglii.
Bulldogom wystarczy nawet przegrana 2:4!
Andersen & Sullivan vs. Hancock & Kołodziej
Obie drużyny miały po sezonie zasadniczym taką samą liczbę punktów! To się nazywa wyrównany poziom!
Wystarczała przegrana 2:4 lecz niestety przegrali 1:5 :(
Ostatni bieg zadecydował o tytule dla Panter
Sullivan, Andersen, Hancock, Kołodziej :(
Strosunek dwumeczu 95:94!
Alez tam musialy byc emocje. Taki finisz Panter. Oby doczekac takiego finalu DMP z udzialem Falubazu :)

A to chyba wszystko wyjaśnia...
Niezwykle dramatyczne spotkanie.
